Sailors, captains and wenches of Albion,
The vessels of the Southwestern Traders will bring succor to the men of Lyceni and the elves of Nagnati, as those same vessels did to the dwarves of North Hold and the people of Lothia,
Food, goods, and other supplies are destined to reach the shores of Hibernia,
The Guild calls upon every able-bodied sailor, captain, and port-side lackey to do their part. Well-paid contracts are available to the men and women brave enough to ply the seas,
Lords, Knights and Yeomen! Those wishing to traverse the great beautiful blue are instructed to send emissaries to their local guilders or to Admiral Whiterose with their requests, that the appropriate contracts might be issued on their behalf,
Onwards to Victory!

Post by Elyssia Whiterose (SWT) on Mar 23, 2017 17:34:43 GMT
As the leaves turned brown and the air turned cold, Elyssia found the time to make the journey to Caerleon. There, she stood overlooking the sea, where scattered driftwood would be washed ashore. Some of it was from unfortunate trees that had grown too bold and too close to the shorelines. Other driftwood was from unfortunate merchants and fishermen, who had run aground, allided or worse.
Not every sailor made it home, and Elyssia knew that all too well. She hoped to do more in time, but for the time being, she sat and listened to the music of the sea, as she played her harp and sang her songs.
To the brave sailors and mariners And to all those whom they left in their wake We honour their sacrifice They gave their lives, for our life’s sake
Without fear, they head out every morrow To the sea, we give only our best In our memories, we them cherish At this anchor where their spirits rest

Various tidbits of information made their ways out of the Southwestern Trader council meeting, as the councilors returned home and spoke with the local guilders there. A veritable game of whispering down the lane, there was nevertheless knowledge to be gleaned from the gossip.
Admiral Whiterose would have very much liked to have sailed out in search of the sailors lost at sea. Commodore Victor heartlessly recommended against it and, in the end, his recommendation won out.
The appearance of Dunbar in Nemeth caused much furor, given the man's previous unethical behavior in murdering not only his own courtiers, but also in murdering others. His appearance could only bode ill for Nemeth's future, as any who followed his guidance or supported his actions were sure to be led astray by fhomorian spawn, either deliberately or owing to Dunbar's weak mind. In that context, it was little solace to the guilders that the cold-hearted and bloodthirsty Rowena, co-conspirator in murder schemes, remained missing - indeed, many would prefer her whereabouts to be known to all, so that her schemes might be thwarted.
Fortunately, neither King Alden or Prince Uther seemed influenced by them, and the guild accordingly had re-affirmed their support towards Nemeth as a whole, although it did appear far less stable than desirable. Ultimately, such was out of the hands of the guilders, and they could only continue to work diligently and adhere to their word.
The sad news of James Holt apparent demise had touched the hearts of the Southwestern Traders, who offered their condolences to them.
Some of the councilors from Gawant had taken an unnatural fondness to the sheep of Alined. They claimed it was because they were interested in bringing the fine wool back with them.
Lord Kaegan was slated to become wealthy once more, through hard work and opportunity.
Gwyndaf had earned the respect of many sailors and captains alike, and had done well for himself in the guild, despite not having a maritime background.

The armies marching to and fro villages and lands required vast amounts of food. An army marches on its stomach, so naturally this led to the slaughter of many animals, particularly geese and sheep, so as to feed the hungry warriors. While there was other food to be eaten as well, these two animals in particular were important to the guild’s efforts. The bleating of the sheep was like a battle cry. The honking of the geese like a call to arms. In Dumonia, goose feathers were collected by the women and children, who would bring them to fletchers, along with faggots of wood suitable for making shafts. The length of the faggots determined whether they were destined to become arrows or spears. The smiths, meanwhile, were hard at work creating excellent jagged broadhead arrowtips and speartips. Thanks to massive quantities of trade, the price of iron was rising, and so to make sure that the cost of the weapons did not exceed their value, they had selected weapons that were suitably for use by the elves and warriors in Nagnati, while minimizing the iron and steel needed. The rising prices were good news for all guilders. They saw the value of their crafts rise as well. The bloodthirst of nobles was thus an entirely expectable boon to the skilled craftsman and his apprentice.
Little kids could be found plucking geese, that their feathers might become weapons of war, while the geese themselves became food for the hungry. Travelers from Alined brought wood, iron and more geese from afar. Exeter was a hub where the many arrows and spears produced by the fletchers, bowyers and craftsmen of Dumonia, and other lands, found their way onto guild ships.
From Alined up through Caerleon, slaughtered sheep were sent to tanneries, their bloody, muddy, furry hides collected and eventually shipped off to Camelot. In Camelot, skilled leatherworkers were provided with the sheepskin, and while some was kept as payment for their work, and other as repayment of debts, the remainder of their finished products – quivers, leather arm bracers, armour and other essential equipment which could either help kill goblins, or protect against goblin weapons – then made their way along the highway from Camelot to Caerleon.
In Deganwy and Aberconwy, those goods were loaded onto ships and from there, joined the many vessels destined for Hibernia.
All the while, the sheep and geese of Albion bleated and honked their songs of war.

"Onwards to Hibernia!" Captain Gwyndaf declared, once more at the helm of his ship, Sanctuary. "We've work to do, and seas to ply."
The fleet was gathering in the west, like a gathering storm, and they would be ready for the days to come. Unlike other ships, however, Captain Gwyndaf was not going to be engaging in commerce this time around.
This time, Captain Gwyndaf and the Southwestern Trader fleet would be protecting the western seaboard from any and all incursions by the Slavers, pirates and others who might be foolish enough to want to strike upon the western coast by means of the sea. Captain Gwyndaf, his first mate, his fellow pirates, and his crew - all of them would be ready.
Ready to bring these boats to victory!
