With winter now covering the land, a faithful can sit and talk and enjoy his hard work. Those in the heartlands of Camelot and Caerleon feel the seasonal cold, yet have suffered none of the earlier years winter calamities. Abreffraw port has seen calmly to shelter visiting merchant vessels, for once with hardly a mark of frost. Angelsea Channel was clear of the storms that sometimes passed through with the change of season. In Camelot itself the winter crops were thriving, its smallfolk being able to drop much of its worry surrounding it for this year.
The Temple of the One True God has been busy this year and in ever increasing amounts under its current leadership. From the grand favour the One True God bestowed upon the mentioned provinces, to its expansion of its holdings and the grand building projects now underway.
Every builder in the realm not employed by the Northern Traders is so employed by the Temple of the One True God. In Camelot itself the final hand is being laid on the Shrine of St. Illtud, a marvel of detail. Then there is Car Kells, receiving a new expansion of its curtain walls and its outlying holdings, hosting increasing amounts of followers and an expansive court. The word has it this is merely the start of the Archpriest his plans for expanding the Temple. One such rumour states he envisions a network of holy shrines to the One True God his saints to conjoin the various pilgrimage routes. In various provinces large contributions were raised from landholders, the produce meant for the Temple stores sold to the local smallfolk at low prices, yet in such numbers considerable funds were raised. The Archpriest let it be known a premium is paid to all skilled workers and labourers who work for the improvement of the faith. With the further payment on those days that rest is taken and even mandated, the Temple's construction seem to rise before the very eyes.
With the court of the Temple growing, so do its followers. The last years have seen the foundation of a new Knightly Order, the Holy Order of the Elder, its members drawn from the Most Noble Order of Saint Columba and a new influx of pledging knights. Among those that joined from the Order of Saint Columba there were several commoners, that where knighted for their service to the Temple. A rising of station is most certainly possible, the Temple seems to promise.
A recent ceremony also saw Ealdgyð Cenwalh, confidante of the Lord Militant, rise to the post of Knight-Marshal. With the expanding Temple Militant it seems it is also growing its leadership.
Now with the blasphemous followers of blood up north causing death and rapine once more, the inner council of the Temple of the One True God seems to have settled upon its course. Peace and stability cannot exist with a mad and bloodthirsty animal tearing up the meadows and fields. Now their homes are strong, its crops are guaranteed and their families safe, it makes a grand calling upon its faithful to it gathers its numbers. The Temple calls and the faithful come, laymen and tenants, farmers and fieldhands, skilled labourers and daylabourers. With the Temple Militant its training in the parishes and its protection bestowed on all, they come forth for their Temple.
