This is a roleplaying and strategy game.
The flow of the game:
Each turn will take about 5 weeks:
Week 1: Diplomacy and planning phase. During this week some adventures will start.
Week 2: Diplomacy and planning phase. During this week some adventures will start and most adventures will be concluded.
Last day of week 2: Deadline to make a turn submission
Week 3: Action resolutions. Here the last adventures of the turn will be concluded
Week 4: War moves are resolved and battles are played out.
Week 5: News from the turn, random events from the next turn and updated P&H is released.
Some turns might go faster or drag out a bit, but you will always get at least 2 weeks to plan your turns.
Strategy:
Each player take control of a domain that consist of different holding and assets. The strategy part of the game is the management of that domain through planned actions.
The strategy part of the game is vital for the game to run smoothly. So people are required to keep the deadlines that are given, submitting a turn earlier if they don't have time to submit on the last day.
Roleplaying:
Roleplaying is what make this game more than just a realm building strategy war game. Roleplaying bring the story to life.
At all times during the game you will have ample opportunity to role play the characters of your domain, posting what they do on the forum for all to see, or create private courts where only some players are invited to join. If you wish to speak with a single, or a couple of other players on a one time basis you can email him, rather than creating a private forum. Just remember to CC the GM on all in game messages.
A players email will be listed next to his domain in the P&H file.
