Nature's Soft Embrace
History & Beliefs
A few hundred years ago a Priestess of the old religion thought about the nature of nature. Through introspection and communing with the various aspects of nature, she came to the conclusion of nature being as varied as the peoples of the land. Although nature can be both nourishing and barren, nature at it's heart promotes life. For when the fire rages and burns through the undergrowth of the forest, it is not to destroy and leave a barren land for all time. Nature burned out the old which held back life from blooming and growing to its fullest extent. While there are times when nature can be harsh, even terrifying or brutal, the heart of nature seeks to see life grow and reach its full potential.
Over time this druid started a faction, a way which shunned the old ways of human sacrifices. She started to shape a view on nature that was soft and embracing to its core. Nature as a healer and bringer of growth and fertility. When the sun rises, most animals stir into activity. So it is also true with humans and most of the other races of Albion. The sun brings the light of day and growth. This change in Dogma led to a change in the way the clergy was connected to nature. Gone were the days of sacrifice, now came an embracing of nature and living in harmony with it.
With this change comes a different view on life and culture. Rather than being in conflict with prosperity, the druids of Nature's Soft Embrace seek a way to enhance the lives of all. Where groves in the past were tended in secret and blood sacrifices were common, now the groves are open to those with a kind heart or open mind. Rather than rage against the farmer expanding his field, the druids work with the farmer to allow him to be more efficient in tending his fields or flock to minimize his impact on the surrounding natural wonders.
Realm Magic
Although Natures Soft Embrace is a Druidic temple, and as such draw on their temple holdings to cast Primordial Realm magic, they have access to a few divine and arcane realm spells that their temple holdings can cast as well. The sources they control are only used to partly power their new form of primordial magic and cannot channel spells on their own.
Organization & Influence
While viewed on a macro level as chaotic, this is a reflection of their rather decentralized organisation, rather than the alignment of the vast majority of the druids.
The primary region of influence is in the southeast of Albion (the lands of Tir Moreth, Nemeth, and Mercia). Recent events have drawn the druids into action in the northern lands of Umbria.
There are a number of names bandied about when discussing the leadership of Nature's Soft Embrace. Most common are the druids Bran Duir (recently relocated to Nem and not known for his personality), Lydia of Coerleon (travels the southern reaches of Albion), Ettain (although many claim he is no druid), Falea of Tir Mor, and a few others. It is known the hierarchy is very loose and open to interpretation, with each druid often acting in a manner they see appropriate (sometimes contrary to the actions and agreements of their brethern).
