After the dark events in the Monastery of Car Kells, at dawn heavily guarded messengers ride forth from the fortress to the court of the Western Traders, Camelot, Caerleon and to the front in the North.
Just Prior, after morning mass.
The Archpriest is seen to be in cold anger, as the surviving member of the reception hall guard stands at his side in the fortress courtyard. Sensing the guards distress, Maelgwyn catches himself and calms down, speaking some soft words to the guard that seems to sooth the man. Turning towards the exited crowd gathered in the courtyard, Mealgwyn raises his hands and a respectful quiet settles over the gathered laymen, warriors and locals.
"My fellow faithful, you may have heard rumours of what has transpired here tonight. Let me settle the situation now with the truth of the matter.
Late last night an intruder entered our fair monastery and stole the holy relic recently recovered at much loss."
A shadow flickers over his face, after a short pause he continues his hand resting on the shoulder of the guard.
"This intruder used used foul magics to conceal his or her identity in the pretence of being Eclessiast Meinwen. However this person made one grave mistake, as Cadell here was spared so he might tell us what happened, thinking we would condemn one of our own. Cadell here clearly saw the white of her irises, and as we all know our fair Meinwen has recently been afflicted with an unfortunate change to her eyes after the retrieval of the relic.
Our imposter clearly did not realise this!
I have will personally lead the prayers for his faithful follower Vera's soul. This morning will see sent forth messenger to the Camelot, her guild and the real Ecclesiast Meinwen with our forces in the north of Albion.
Make no mistake my brethern, we will find those responsible and cast the judgement of the One God upon them and retrieve our most sacred artifact!"
