Eastern traders has for a long time been the dominating guild in eastern Albion. The Eastern traders are a collection of a lot of smaller trade guild, this results in a vary autonomous decision taking, and a lot of smaller guild acting alone. In order to have some sort of control and maintain order the Eastern trade council was created. It is here the guild master is elected among the prominent guilds, general guidelines for the guild made and internal differences settled. Currently the trade council is located in Essitir in southern Mercia. The current elected guild master is Dustan Rattray. All trade guilds are allowed in the eastern traders as ling as they pay their fee to the trade council. In return they get the protection of the trade council. Due to this very open recruitment form the guild has a wide spectrum of alignments and span a wide variety of activities.
In Current years the Eastern trades was involved as a stabilizing factor in the civil war of Mercia. Where they helped Felicia North to power by backing here with there caravan guards. The caravan guards has grown considerably the later years so it has the size of an army (which the trade council rent out to who ever has the coin). The carvan guards brought stability and security to the domain of Mercia and made the trade flourish once more. The trade council has put considerable error and coin into restoring Mercia to its former glory.
Dustan Rattray is a self made man. Starting out as a brewer owning a troubled brewery and through hard effort did he manage to turn it around and being leader of one of the most prominent guilds within the Eastern traders. In For several years he has ran a orphanage in Mercia where he can the orphaned a home and later a job and teaching within the guild. Children he grew especially found was adopted by Dustan Rattray which is unfortunately childless. The size of the orphanage has unfortunately grown quite big as a consequence of the civil war in Mercia.
The demographic of the guild are heavy influence by the guild being dominating in Mercia/Bayard and Tir Moreth, which lead to a rather high population of elves and half elves and based on this has strong ties to Tir Moreth . The rest of the guild consist of a blend of humans form primary from Mercia but also considerably numbers from Camelot and Bayard.
