Following diplomatic envoys a force from Gawant crossed the borders of Alined with the prior consent of King Arthur Valiant. At the agreed point of assembly they pitched their tents and their sentries and awaited the arrival of forces from Camelot and Caerleon. Beside the banner of Gawant flew the Golden Wolf that was the personal standard of her king. This close to their borders and in friendly territory the army had secure supply lines and the people of Alined were untroubled by the men of Gawant. The nation's elite forces had come with their monarch and the camp was disciplined and orderly as a result.

Envoys are also sent to Commander Dale, the army of Bayard and Lady Rowenna informing them of the presence of the army of Gawant and asking all sides to consider a temporary truce and an agreement to not kill any prisoners to allow time for the truth to be established. Allegations of magical subversion have been made. If true none of the parties currently warring may be responsible for what has transpired. It is folly to water the plants with more of the good blood of Nemeth and Bayard until it is clear precisely who is responsible. If an hostile sorcerer is responsible such bloodshed and the weakening of Nemeth may be their very goal. Both parties are invited to send envoys to the army camp to meet with the king.

Soon after the men of Gawant arrive and make camp, outriders bearing the twin banners of Caerleon and Camelot deliver messages inviting King Gildenwolf to their camp that they might meet with Sir Estian of Caerleon for the purposes of organising the lines of command that would turn these disparate armies into a mighty coalition of justice.
