In the spring proclamations issue from Umbria thanking the embers of the coalition for their efforts and celebrating the victory of the winter over the undeads. The proclamation seem to be spread particularly widely is Mercia, Dal Riada and North Hold perhaps due to their closer proximity to Umbria, though letters make it to every member of the coalition. The proclamations vary somewhat from region to region each emphasizing the contribution of that contingent to the but they carry a similar theme. The one to North Hold reads.
To Laird Donald Maclaighn of Oalriada.,
I wish to thank you and your brave warriors for their invaluable assistance to the coalition army in turning aside the undead threat that broke through the veil this winter and thus protect Umbria, North Hold and all of Albion from the encroaching Darkness. Knowing well dwarven prowess in battle I will not feign surprise, but I am nonetheless happy to once more have confirmation of the superb skill of Dwarven infantry.
While you and your troops fought both bravely and skillfully in 3 battles I wish to particularly emphasize the importance of your troops in the first decisive battle. Scattering the Undead Assault on our left flank and then with neither rest nor hesitation containing the undead breakthrough on the right. Had the victory on the left been less decisive or your own reaction to the crisis on the right been less decisive ultimate victory might have eluded us or at least come at a far greater cost.
While the skill of your soldiers, the quality of dwarven armour and of cause your own stout leadership kept dwarven casualties light, I none the less wish to extend my condolences to those who lost their lives in the battle against the darkness. I hope their families will take some solace in the honour they have brought to their clan, the Dwarven Nation and to their Laird, as well as in the knowledge that their sacrifice has helped keep all of Albion safe from the sadly still present threat of the Temple of Blood.
Yours in friendship and gratitude,
Maevïel Caern - The Aelven King.
