Colborn walks towards the Aelven warcamp where he has been summoned. He hopes that he is meeting Eltaor or perhaps Allain who have treated him with some respect in previous meeting, he suspect it is feigned, but still preferable to what manners most other elves display. Still it seemed better to serve the elves than to engage in repeated fights against a stronger foe.
He approached the TOG sentries, displaying the message he’s been told contains the “request” to meet and is escorted to a large tent. He Sees Eltaor, Maerel and a man unknown to him. Maerel scowls silently at him.
Eltaor: Ah, Colborn, glad you could make it, this is Caradoc, he is serving as Princess Meinwens Lieutenant. We’ve heard there has been widespread celebrations following the Princesses victory over the undead. These are happy news, but we were hoping you could fill us in on the details,. What have you heard. gWho are most supportive and who are least. We’re hoping to perhaps be able to exploit this situation to quell the unrest that has plagued the province, ensure more enthusiastic compliance with the Princess directives.
Colborn: *Shrugs*. Unsurprisingly the strongest support is found near the Battle site in Boroeyrr, Geir and his clan are voicing strong support. Hjalmar in the west and his followers approve of the victory to be sure, but they never saw the fighting, The mountain clans under Raul are a bot more complicated. He seems to consider it a great victory but I think he mostly wants the Princess to rise in revolt, He always was a fool who couldn’t count. Most Lothians like to pretend it was not a largely Aelven army that defeated the undead or at least the the human elements are Lothian, but he seems to really believe that.
Maerel: So we should crush the Maintain clans before they rebel then, useful information to be sure,
Caradoc: I don’t think the Princess will wish to act before without more information then a rumour, in fact she will likely wish to see action, rather than words.
Eltaor: Besides if we were to crush every rumour and whisper of rebellion this province would soon be as desolate as CIrcind was and we’d have another source of undead to content with, let them grumble if they will, we will deal with actions not words. I trust you will inform us if actions seem eminent Colborn?
Colborn: I will, though I think it unlikely at the moment, there are those who wish the princess to lead us in such a rebellion, but not to many who would act on their own.
Eltaor: Anythng else Colborn?
Colborn: I think you should focus your effort on Hjalmar. He is persuadable, but not yet won over. Geir is already persuaded and Raul is unlikely to change his mind. Besides the mountain clans are isolated. As long as they don’t rise in revolt and start raiding, they can be safely ignored without interfering with the rest of the realm.
Eltaor: Thank you, we will consider what you have said.
