Somewhere on one of the highest peaks of Circind where the snow never melts in the hottest of summers and certainly not in the earliest days of spring, as it currently I,s a group of fey struggle to the peak. The group consist of three scholars from the Aelven court and ten archers to protect them. Helping them with the ascent is another ten sturdy dwarves hired through the DCG for their expertise with mountains. The dwarves appears untouched by the cold, but the elves shudder despite their heavy clothing. One of the dwarves has some light wounds from a skirmish with undeads along the way
“Is it here Lydi’aleera?” askes the leader of the archer to the scholar in charge.
“Yes, Nuvian” she answers “this is where Maevïels source was anchored, I can still feel the remnants. We’ll need a few days to conduct our tests.”
Nuvian nods. “I will set guards to ensure that your work is undisturbed.” The Aelven archers spread out to cover the approaches to the summit and the dwarves start setting up a campsite. For the next three days the scholars cast divination spells and perform ritual to ascertain what has happened while the archers and dwarven guides take turns standing guard. After this the begin the decent but they thrice make stops near the site of destroyed ToB temple sites to conduct further tests. After this they return to Bernicia to report to the Aelven King.

Lydi’aleera walks through to court in Bernicia, nods to the guards as they open the door and enter the room where King Caern and princess Lysanthia are waiting for her with another two guards standing out of earshot near the back of the room.
King Caern: “Lydi’aleera, welcome did you find it?
Lydi’aleera: I think so Maevïel, at least in part. The miasma of death lingers throughout the province, but it was exceptionally strong near the anchor of your source. This is unusual since the mountaintop is clearly not the place where the greatest number of death has occurred."
Lysanthia: "So you think it’s a result of the disruption of the source?"
Lydi’aleera: "That was my thinking, we like to anchor our magic to places of undisturbed nature as does most magi, but this suggest that the feral ones anchor their magic near places of death, so I examined the sites of their biggest temples. There was traces of spirit magic of cause, but the one near the third largest temple in the Nivar valley had distinct and I believe recent traces of arcana activity as well. I don’t think it’s their only anchor point, but I believe it’s one of the. I would have attempted to control the source but…"
King Caern: "Yes, I told you not to, if I had intended that I would have done it myself, the danger is greater than the gain, we just need to location, that will be enough. You’ve done an excellent job. "
Lysanthia:"Did you bring anything from the site?"
Lydi’aleera: "The place was littered with human skull and other bones, I suppose that those might have served but it lingers to close to blood magic. I brought moss from the altar and even some from the bones themselves."
King Caern: "Life from death, I think that will serve."
Lysanthia: "We should ask Meinwen to see if she can clean up the sites. There are far to many dead to bury quickly, but perhaps the most perverted places can be cleansed at least somewhat."
King Caern: "Yes, you should mention that. Thank you Lydi’aleera, If that is all you should prepare for the ritual, leave the regent in a sealed chest in the Arcanum."
Lydi’aleera: "Of cause Mievel, I’ll do that."

Lydi’aleera turn to leave.
Lysanthia: One last think, your apprentice, do you think he is ready to do some independent work?
Lydi’aleera: I suppose that depends on the task, He is not yet into his 3rd century. I would not send him to map the TOB network without supervision.
Lysanthia: Nothing like that, but we might wish to expand our network to Mercia. We want to forge some connection in preperation. a retelatively simple task in frinedly territory.
Lydi’aleera: That sound simple enough, and a good test of his abilities.
Lysanthia: Good sent him to Mercia. They are expecting his arrival.
