Across the domain of the Aelven king the message goes out that King Caern seeks the bravest and most daring souls in Umbria that they might venture into dark places and bring the light in service to King Caern and for the glory of Umbria. Surely those who answer the call will be remembered as heroes in song and legend in all of Albion far beyond the lifetime of any of the mortal races.
First to respond is Bethal a bowman recently returned from adventures abbroad. He proclaimes that no elf (and thus no one at all) could possibly exceed his own skill and daring.

While Bethal is the first he is far from the last. Volunteers assemble from all over Umbria. Most notable among the new arrival is Uldreiyn one of the few surviving elves from the fearsome undead incursion but a year in the past. He held hiltop with 700 other elves when the battle started but whene the valiant dwarves of North hold managed to break through the undeads besieging their Aelven allies 3 days latter less than 20 elves remained and Uldreiyn was mortally wounded. He would have perished there has not Meinwen invoked the power of the One God to heal his wounds. The companies of aelves to hold Circind were disbanded as heroes for they were to few remaining to form effective units, but while most of his fellow survivors and have returned to Umbria, Uldreiyn has no wish to retire. He is rare among elves in that he now truly embraces a human god. He feel the One God has spared him for a purpose and that perhaps this is that purpose?

The word spreads even beyond Umbria and volounteers start to appear from Tir Moreth and Nagnati, Ayduin ancenstors left Umbria more than a milenia in the past. since he has been a grown elf he has served in the Tor Moreth army, and he has also joined the Lord protector on adventures, but now he return to the land of his ancenstors to take up the call.

Most of the applicant are well know for their deeds, if not In Umbria then in Tir Moreth or Nagnati, some are more mysterious however, an elf calling himself only Fox-at-Twilight shows unusual skill with sword and especially with spear but claims to have no memory of his homeland or origin, and none living in Umbria not any of the visitors have ever seen his face before on any living elf. Some have however produced sketches from an old books and noticed a strange resemblance to an old Aelven adventurer by the name Tannyll Silverspear from Nagnati. He has been presumed dead since he and several follow adventurers attempted to slay a goblin sorcerer in what is now called Robogdii. That was 1500 years ago.

A small lothian warband has presented themselves at court. This caused mild consternation, but their clan tartan is regrettably known at the guildhalls as one of the bands working for Northern Traders. The real uproar comes when it turns out there's an elf among them scandalously wearing a sash with the same tartan rather than the usual distinctions given to veterans of the Hibernian liberation. They've requested an audience -- surely they must've lost their mind.

The visiting Lothians are foisted of on a minor Aelven functionary names Alea. She rather desperatly suggest if perhaps thye might not be more comfortable seeking employment with Meinwen as the princess of Dal Riada. She strenously avoids looking at the elf among them.
