The Northen Traders, on the behest of our wise king Glendall, have finished our audit of the actions of the court of Nemeth.
We have uncovered a deep-seated corruption that traces directly to several prominent members of the child dukes inner council. Damning proof has been uncovered, decisively proving that John the Bear and King-Consort dunbar have committed numerous acts of piracy in the waters of Albion. As the majority of the young dukes court are people appointed by Alden the Low, who was executed for his crimes against the people of Albion, Northern Traders see no option but to decree the following:
The Court of Nemeth is a den of liars, thieves and pirates. The Duke of Nemeth is solely responsible for righting the black stain on his nations honour. The Duke of Nemeth must execute all members of his court that forment piracy, and conduct extensive purges of courtiers appointed by Alden the Low.
Until such a time these reasonable amends are made, the nation of Nemeth will be considered a bandit nation. No trade is permitted to flow to or from Nemeth from nations in which the Northern Traders operate. Guild members found supplying the bandit nation will have their licenses revoked. Acts of aggression against a bandit nation will be considered justified and legal in the eyes of the guild wardens. They will not be permitted to ride in the defense of a bandit nation.
The Northern Traders urge the young duke to take this warning seriously. We will not tolerate the actions of his court besmirching the honour of Camelot and her allies for long.

On the OOC request of X-Nemeth I am quoting the results of NTs espionage action. You are free to assume we've made all proof of our investigation into Nemeths piracy public, as we were not requested to keep it confident Results of Nemeth espionage You find clear and consistent evidence the John the Bear took Nemethian ships under pirate colours to raid Alined and that King Consort Dunbar acted to actively cover-up Nemeth's involvement. There appears to have a campaign within the court (orchestrated by Dunbar) to keep Uther from knowing what was going on. But for Duke Uther not to put together the SWT sinking 4 ships with Nemeth losing 4 ships to "piracy" suggests that he is either incompetent or willfully ignorant.

When confronted with the NT decree in the court of Camelot, Oran Scrivener just shrugs at how the findings which were "John the Bear took Nemethian ships under pirate colours to raid Alined" became "decisively proving that John the Bear and King-Consort dunbar have committed numerous acts of piracy in the waters of Albion.", while being processed by James Holt. He then assures people that the ships had a perfectly valid reason for hiding out. Namely they were in the process of conducting a secret surprise raid, against the enemy of Nemeth, Alined, and used the disguise to keep merchants who might have warned Arthur Valiant at a distance. Of course they would have not committed the actual raid under the black flag, as that would make them pirates. By their own account, SWT knew it was not pirate ships, yet proceeded to sink them anyway. Oran then continues "Don't take my word for it. Glendal Pendragon was presented with all the evidence, even that which NT left out, and he accepted it." As to allegations that Dunbar deceived Uther, Oran keeps decidedly silent, referring to a soon to come decree on the matter. When asked if he is not nervous about Nemeth losing trade with NT, he smiles. "Not really. They do not conduct trade in Nemeth, and by their own account they do not want to. It seems they prefer to avoid directly competing with other guilds, like the eastern traders. If their wares are so weak they cant compete with others in an honest down to earth way, then I dont think Nemeth has lost anything."
Oran also points out that he finds it weird to condemn someone purely based on who hired them. Or more likely, which liege they were born to.
OOC: No time to write the decree yet, but it is coming.

Branson points out that since the ships were flying pirate flags, it doesn't matter who they supposedly belonged to; the very act of flying a pirate flag condemned them to death for the crime of piracy.
By SWT's account, they were sunk because we knew they were pirate ships. Oran misrepresents SWT's account.

Because Nemeth gave up the privilege of being able to choose its own enemies when it gave up its sovereignty to become King Glendall's vassal, and because Camelot and Alined are at peace, Lord Dunstan of Alined once again shakes his head and expresses his disagreement with Oran Scrivner's account, without engaging the man personally. "If 'the Duchy of Nemeth' is willing to raid Camelot's peaceful neighbours--by their own admission--it seems the Northern Traders' account, as well as my own, has been confirmed by the next best thing to the horse's mouth."

In Camelot people are horrified that the Duke of Nemeth was duped by his own family and they look forward to the young Duke settling this matter. King Glendall is said to still have confidence that the Duke of Nemeth is able to "clean his own house"

Speaking to some nobles in Nemeth, Harold Hammersmith was adamant, "My Lords, my Ladies, I am confident." he said, with a gruff and resolute voice, "Yes, I am confident that Duke Uther will set an example for what happens to pirates. An example fit for a Duke, nay, fit for a King!"
"And when such an announcement is made," He said presumptuously, "I urge you to support it! Spread it far and wide! Let it be known that neither Nemeth nor the Southwestern Traders will ever waver in the face of piracy!"
"Indeed, at this very moment that I speak, I've heard that Commodore Victor's fleet scared off some ne'er do wells off our blessed coast. Aye. Victor. Not some sloppy Eastern Trader brigand, too busy arming insurgents in Essetir to sow chaos, confusion and destruction. A good, honest man who will show those pirates no mercy, as we never have, and never will. I am just as sure that Duke Uther will show pirates no mercy!"
