Anyone live in England in past 5 to 10 years?
If so, what would be the thing you disliked most? And what did you like the most?
I'm getting ready for a possible move there and just looking for some insights.
Thanks!
John

Food and weather is trash. Not part of EU anymore, so traveling out of England is going to be bad.

LOL, that is an upside when you're as language challenged as I am. Thanks

Well.... I'm going to be a little more optimistic.
Stay away from prepackaged crap-junk-supermarket-food, and the food will mostly be okay.
They say "tea" when trying to say "dinner", so don't eat before tea!
Their apple cider is good.
Their pub food is good, even if you're only slightly drunk.
Public transportation is relatively expensive compared to Denmark.

I lived there for a month with my the girlfriend (now wife) and my recollections (now a decade old).
The Tube and bus network can get you anywhere in London. Driving in London is a pain, driving outside London is really easy. Scotland in summer is picturesque. The Scots are crazy (deep fired Mars Bar, really). A waterproof outer layer is almost mandatory. Anything indoors is really heated. Pub lunches are always very good.

I toured with Disney on Ice in 2003 and spent 13 weeks in the UK. I thoroughly enjoyed my time in England.
- Food was good. (And whatever they add to it is working for them! English lasses are a buxom lot.) - Beer was better. (But still not Guinness.) - Weather sucked. - A language barrier does exist in some locations, looking at you Geordies! - It was pretty expensive, but the ambiance was well worth the money. - I found that they were not as outgoing and friendly as the Irish. But not nearly as uptight as the Germans. heh
That said, I would go back in a heartbeat!
