In case people haven't noticed, Albion (i.e. pretty much every PC player) is going to get invited to a Winter Ball. Thanks to some wheeling and dealing, I believe it'll be possible for characters to attend for free (the court session would still require actions on my part, and so that portion will remain limited). Obviously, it's mostly for RP purposes (although I should note character actions do allow for a diplomacy action insofar as the diplomacy is not realm-to-realm but character-to-character - as I understand it anyway). However, I suspect it'll be interesting in its own right, but to make it as memorable as possible I am going through preparations to have something interesting for people to just play with. My goal at the moment is to describe various locations. That's kinda like setting the stage. Context is in an Arthurian Winter Ball, albeit in a Merchant's court. Suggestions are always welcome, but likely include a Rose Garden, a River Bank, a Courtyard and a Ballroom of some sort. I expect Drama, Courting, and Celebrating, as would be proper Look forward to the decree in T4! and bring any suggestions you have for the ball here, so I might better prepare for it.

Sounds fun, Ettain hopes strong drink (as opposed to the watered down swill ToG has been serving!) will be available!

In no particular order: - a tournament (joust/melee/archery are the standard three) - plays - bards and the like - board games (chess and similar) - hunting/hawking (only possible in Southern Albion in winter) - scavenger hunts (small trinkets hidden in the gardens, etc)

The delegation from Nemeth would totally be down with a tournament and hunting. However, where do you plan to have the ball? Dumonia, Helna, Nemeth, Alinde, Carleon or Gawant? I hope where ever you end up holding it, the security will be up to it.

Because he killed my bard.
I like the idea of a tournament. I'll have to review it to make it fit the fact that I am no noble. Also, a tournament without a prize is hardly a tournament at all! But I like it.
Plays are a lovely idea.
I'll consider the final two. Maybe as a pre- or post- ball event.

That's funny, I bought my last drinking stock from the Westerners, recently taken over by the Southern Traders. Please do clarify in the case the One God's own temple was ripped off by you and yours.
