Word has quickly spread both far and wide about the impressiveness of Oden's Court in Wessex.
Located in the hills above and around Portland and Poole Harbour where roads coming from those two places, plus two others (one leading to Exeter, the other into central Wessex) come together, are the agrarian lands of Durnovia. On top of the largest hill in Durnovia lies an ancient abandoned hill-fort known by locals in the old tongue as "Maidun". This is where Oden's court in Wessex can be found.
Visitors approaching Maidun by any of the four main roads winding thru the hills of Durnovia appreciate the expansive views each hill offers. However, once Maidun itself rises into view, one cannot help but to be truly impressed by it's magnificence, it's freshly painted(?) white walls shine brightly, reflecting the light of the sun by day, or the moon by night.
Visitors walking up the path leading to Oden's court at Maidun must first walk up the steep hill, passing thru the remnants of previously abandoned rows of ramparts, ditches and earthworks (as well as layers of guards) before arriving at the top of the hill behind the protection of the last rampart where the Court is located. The inner portion of the top of the hill within this last rampart covers a total of about 16 acres, though the area enclosed by the ramparts below that is occupied by Dumonian troops probably covers close to triple that many acres.
Not just anyone is allowed inside the court, but those who have been to the top of the hill see that a small village has been established. At the highest point is Oden's court. Tales by those who have been there regale it's magnificence, with many different stories of the visual wonders to be found inside.
It is from here, Maidun, at the crossroads in Durnovia, where the hard work by King Oden and his Court has begun and will continue, attempting to restore law and order despite the best efforts of the rebel agents of chaos, so that stability and prosperity may once again be enjoyed by the the people of the lands of Wessex.
