The market square was bustling with excited voices. "Have you heard the latest?" One woman said to another, who shaking her head replied "He is a madman", before the trader at the stall they were perusing added his thoughts: "No he is exactly what we need in these times". The first lady scornfully replied "Why can't he just focus on the well being of Tir Moreth?". The trader, being and old levelheaded man, shrugged in response, "Perhaps he is. Who knows which land will be next to disappear. In my last travels I heard the Goblins and the fey slaughtered most of the inhabitants of Helna, and only a few survived thanks to the valiant effort of a few heroes. Most notably a militia from the Eastern Traders and Nemeth. We would not want that to befall Tir Mor."
Meanwhile the mayor was finishing putting up a decree on the board in front of the townhall. An unusually short one for Hunriel:
Let it be know that Hunriel P'teen, Lord Protector and Master of Magic, has pledged that he will wrest control of Helna from the evil fey and magically return to the realm of man what rightfully belongs to us. Those who would aid as either explorers, soldiers or sailors can sign up at the local constabulary. Arcanists, magicians, sages, historians and others with pertinent information are encouraged to volunteer in person in Elmbay.
Rumors are abound that Hunriel has been hidden away in his study for weeks, magic heavy in the air while the court has been in a flurry of activity to supply materials of all kinds.
